You can register agents on Vijil that use Azure-hosted LLM deployments exposed through Azure OpenAI or Azure AI model endpoints.

Prerequisites

  • You have an Azure subscription with access to Azure OpenAI or Azure AI model deployments.
  • You have an API key or other credentials configured to call your Azure deployment endpoint.
  • You have access to a Vijil team and permission to manage Keys and Agents.

Store Azure Credentials in Vijil

  1. In Vijil, go to Keys > Add new key.
  2. From the Model Hub dropdown, select Azure.
  3. Enter your Azure API key and any required configuration fields (for example endpoint URL and deployment name) in the Azure hub configuration.
  4. Save the key configuration.
Once saved, this key can be reused across multiple Azure-based agents.

Register an Agent on Vijil

With an Azure API key configured, you can register an agent that uses Azure: Setting up an Azure-based Agent in Vjil
  1. Press Register Agent.
  2. Enter an Agent name.
  3. Select Azure as the Hub.
  4. Enter an exposed Azure AI model endpoint.
  5. Enter a model or deployment name that corresponds to your Azure deployment. See your Azure portal configuration for the list of available deployments.
  6. Select an existing Azure API key you configured earlier, or create a new one.
  7. Add a System Prompt if you want Vijil to send a default system prompt with every request to this agent.

Enterprise

If your organization uses enterprise-only features with Vijil:
  1. Add an MCP server URL so the agent can access MCP tools exposed by that server.
  2. Add an A2A Agent Card URL so this agent can participate in agent-to-agent workflows defined in your enterprise.
